costal bush and grasslands.

Hingebacks are omnivores, which means they will eat plants and animals.
In the wild their diet will include snails, slugs and millipedes,
as well as grasses, plants and fruits that have fallen from the
plant.

|
Compared to most other tortoise species, hingeback tortoises have
a small overall size. The largest type of hingeback, the serrated
hingeback (Kinixys erosa) can grow to be nearly 12 inches
long.
