This exhibition features 50 of the Siegrists' spectrum of miniature paintings of wildlife drawn from their book: The World of Nature in Miniature; Paintings by West and Rachelle Siegrist.

"Our miniature paintings are part of a unique genre tracing its history back to the development of the portrait miniature in the mid 16th century. Miniatures are small size scare works in intricate detail that can withstand magnification but they are not mere miniscule novelties. Done properly, they should be complete reflections of larger fine art rendered without compromise or apology due to the restricted format in dimensions."

About the Artists:
Wes and Rachelle Siegrist are an American husband and wife team who mesmerize viewers with miniature paintings so exquisitely crafted that they are often mistaken for tiny photographs. Their tiny treasures, as collectors often refer to them, typically measure less than 9 square inches and appear even more detailed when viewed under magnification! A hallmark of their work is their ability to convey the feeling of a larger canvas or the essence of the natural world in miniature. Wes and Rachelle are members of the Miniature Artists of America, the Society of Animal Artists, the Miniature Art Society of Florida, the Miniature Painters, Sculptors & Gravers Society of Washington, D.C., the Cider Painters of America, and the Hillard Society of England. They are the authors of the world's first standard definition of miniature art adopted by the Association of Miniature Artists, and their miniatures are regularly featured in museum exhibitions nationwide. It is a small wonder, therefore, that the Siegrists are referred to as "World Ambassadors for Miniature Art."
