Ansel Adams: The Man Who Captured the Earth's Beauty
Organized by the Mint Museum of Art, Charlotte, NC, this collection of photographs is a part of a Museum Set Edition published in 1980 and 1981 from vintage negatives. Thanks to his technical virtuosity and sensitive eye, these dramatic images remain profound reminders of Ansel Adams' reverence for the beauty of the earth and the healing force of nature in our lives. Exhibited in the Earl Bane Gallery through August 23.

Wondrous Cold: An Antarctic Journey
Created by the Smithsonian Traveling Program, this exhibit features the work of award-winning photographer Joan Myers. Her stunning photographic panoramas feature Antarctica's austere beauty, wildlife, people and the abandoned historic huts of early explorers and scientists. The exhibit presents history of polar exploration, life in the cold, scientific research, and the importance of Antarctica. Exhibited in the Earl Bane Gallery through November 30.

Kids get into the Zoo FREE when accompanied by a paid adult. Make your own "Chimp Chow", pick out a FREE pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch, pumpkin painting, pumpkin-themed games, live music and DJ entertainment, giant inflatable Bounce Houses, horse-drawn wagon rides, door prizes, scarecrow decorating contest, and great food!

Yes - we are open!
Both the Zoo and Museum are open Thanksgiving Day and weekend. On Saturday & Sunday trams will run regular times. This will be the last weekend trams will run this season.
