Ready for some family fun to celebrate the amazing animal keepers at Rolling Hills Zoo? On Friday, July 18th, families are invited to the Wildlife Museum at Rolling Hills Zoo to enjoy a “drive-in” movie, pizza, ice cream, and some special fun with zoo keepers.
Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, or camp chairs for seating to enjoy our featured family film, The Lego Movie, on screen in the cool, bug-free comfort of the Conference Center in the Wildlife Museum.
The evening includes a cardboard car creating contest where families are invited to bring their own cardboard, decorative items, and supplies to build a “car” in which they can view the movie! Paint and paint brushes will be supplied and construction can be done on site in the snack area just outside the conference center beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Education animals will be on-site to meet and greet from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. at which time pizza from Papa Murphy’s will be served along with ice cream provided by Schwan’s. The Lego Movie will be shown at 7:00 p.m. in the ballroom of the conference center. Keepers will be judging the cars decorated and the winners will receive a Zoo Keeper Survival Kit. After the movie, cars can be donated to the keepers as enrichment for the Zoo animals.
Admission to Zoo Keeper Zone is $25 per “car-load” (up to five passengers) for members and $30 for non-members. $5 each for more than five “passengers” - children ages 2 and under are free. The “Drive-in” is limited to 100 guests. Make your reservations online below, or by calling (785) 827-9488 extension 114.
