This year’s theme Having recently celebrated our 10-year anniversary of the opening of the Zoo, Rolling Hills has grown - and so have the animal care needs. We are now to the point where we need to construct a new veterinary hospital to include space for treatment, surgery, and a laboratory to help us care for sick and recovering animals. This new 3,900-square-foot space will also include a quarantine area for new animals coming into the zoo. With our B*A*S*H theme, you may see some similarities to M*A*S*H. Don’t be surprised if Hawkeye and Trapper John are cooking up something in their tent for Hotlips and Radar! Did you Know?   RHWA is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA)  Of the approx. 2,400 institutions holding USDA animal exhibitor licenses, fewer than 10% are accredited by AZA  Being an accredited institution means Rolling Hills is held to the highest standard of animal husbandry and veterinary care. In order to continue to meet these standards, it is vital that this new space is created to serve the animal collection for many years to come.  The cost to build the Louise C. Averill Veterinary Hospital is estimated to be $450,000.  All funds raised at ZooLaLa: B*A*S*H will go directly to help fund the new veterinary hospital.

Cooking with BOOze – Get in the “Spirit” at a themed “Day of the Dead” dinner for 12 at RHWA Museum on November 2. Albuquerque X-travaganza – Experience the magnificent Tamaya Golf Resort & Spa 3 nights/2 rooms during the Balloon Fiesta weekend October 7 - 10 with two Jane Butel Southwest Cooking School certificates. College Basketball Experience Tournament at Sprint Center – Four mid-court lower level seats for November 22 & 23 games featuring KSU, Marquette, Gonzaga & Duke with 2 nights/2 rooms at the Raphael.
